What We’re Addressing
There are severe racial disparities within health care & wellness services for Black, Latino/Hispanic and multicultural women. This includes:
Less Access
Black women have a difficult time accessing the reproductive health care that meets their needs.
Bias
Black women encounter discrimination and bias in clinical and health-care settings from providers
Poor Preventable Care
U.S. racial & ethnic minorities are less likely to receive preventive medical treatments than whites and often receive lower-quality care.
These are issues that have proven to produce higher mortality rates, maternity health issues, and leave Black women more susceptible to other illnesses like COVID-19.
